In one wired m-bus network there is always Master device and Slave devices.
Master device job is to feed all slave devices and to
convert data from m-bus to something more convinient for processing.
М-bus supply converters are Master devices and all the net is build around them. Each master is
identified by the number of slaves that it can feed. We produce converters for different
number of slaves - 10/32/64/128 and 250 devices. For bigger networks m-bus repeaters should be used.
M-bus masters have the following functions:
- supplying m-bus net and power supply for slave devices
- provide data channel for data exchange between slaves and
main reading device
- serve as a 'bridge' to connect slave devices with main reading
device (such as PC, PDA, etc.)

Generally we offer two types of m-bus masters: for small
networks up to 32 slaves, and for big networks up to 250
slaves. Both types have RS-232C interface. Via RS-232C serial
interface they interact with the external device for reading
- personal computer, communication device or next-level controller.
We can also offer M-bus repeaters for expanding physical dimensions of the network
by 64 or 250 slaves. All types of M-bus masters are powered
from standard power supply 220/230 VAC, and they can work
without problems down to voltage of 170 VAC. Outputs are
protected to short circuit and high voltages.
MBRS masters, produced by Gineers, can be connected to some
kind of converter or directly to personal computer using
RS-232C serial interface.
We produce small master for 10 slaves, which is with USB interface.
It is powered from standard USB port and is ideal for engineers and technical personel
for setting and testing the network. USB is FTDI-based and drivers for all operating systems
are available for download from FTDI website.
We also produce unique Mbus-to-Modbus converter, which is used to make m-bus
devices available in standard BMS solutions. These kind of converters can supply up to
128 slave devices and hold in Modbus all important information for an m-bus devices. Modbus
is both RTU and TCP.
Each of our converter can be connected to some of our communication devices and then setting network or reading
data can be made completely remote.
