GPRS device MBGP-A1

4G GSM/GPRS device MBGP-3EP for m-bus and pulse counting

MBGP-3EP is GSM/GPRS converter, capable to work with 4G networks. It can serve in two basic ways:

- as a bridge between m-bus/RS-232 networks and central server;

- as a pulse counter with GPRS data transfers

Device has 4 standard pulse inputs, suitable for reed-switch or open collector, RS-232 interface and 4G GSM module inside. It is powered by external DC adapter, included in the package. It also comes with GSM antenna and all needed cables. Can be set up locally via RS-232 or remotely through GSM/GPRS network, using our free software. Mounted on a horizontal or vertical surface, DIN-rail mounting available on request.

MBGP-3EP normal operation

For correct operation a SIM-card must be inserted in MBGP-3EP, with activated GPRS service. Access parameters (such as PIN, PUK, access point name, user name, password) must be programmed in MBGP-3 memory - we offer free software for this purpose. Using this software also can be set the following parameters:

  • IP (v4) of at least one data operator, with his access level
  • IP (v4) of control operator and manufacturer (can be identical either to each other or with data operator), and all following set-ups can be made via GPRS by these two operators
  • data sending time period
  • time for sending reading request

These parameters can be re-programmed at any time (excluding SIM-card parameters) from control operator. Reading command is initiated by MBGP-3EP instead by the server, because that way the user has mobile operator independence and can choose from every available GSM operator with GPRS service.
