Wireless m-bus reader WRM-232

Wireless m-bus transceiver WMR-IoT, v3

WRM-232 is transparent wireless m-bus receiver, intended to read telegrams in the air from various devices, working in modes T, S or C according to wireless m-bus standard (EN13757-4). This device has simple function – read every valid telegram and directly re-translate it to the serial RS-232 port, adding START and STOP byte. Device is powered from 12 Vdc adapter and start to work immediately after pwoer up. Each valid telegram received from the air is re-directed to RS-232 port, without intervention. Only option about the telegrams is to add RSSI value at the end of the received telegram. By default RS-232 port works on 19200bps, 8, None. By simple commands on the RS-232 port user can change speed to 115200 and turn on automatic decryption with Master key. It is also possible to change wireless modes and turn on/off filtering by manufacturer (up to 8 different manufacturers).

Intended to be connected in general to some communication device (Ethernet or GPRS converter), so all raw data is read via remote place. It can also be used with the software for reading WMR-IoT v2/v3. Small size, ideal for assembly in all-in-one box.

Normal mode of operation WRM-232

WRM-232 starts work immediately after power supply is plugged in. Then each received valid telegram is re-transmitted to the RS-232 port (RJ-45 plug). Device is transparent, meaning whatever is received comes on the serial port, but the telegram is wrapped with START and STOP byte. This ease parsing of the telegrams and give the programmers easy implementation to other reading softwares. As an option user can set RSS value to be added as the last byte of the telegram and use decryption capabilities of the device (one AES-128 key for all meters, Mode 5).

All settings are made by Gineers software, provided for WMR-IoT device (Ginwalk). Software is capable of changing device wireless mode, see signal strength, decrypt encrypted meters (of course - if key is provided), export data, save in simple database and so on. Of course, we can give protocol information to any user that wants to read and set our devices with different software/system.

For more information about the software please refer to WMR-IoT Software manual or contact with us.
