M-bus repeaters

М-bus (Meter-bus) is a new European standard for remote reading of tax instruments and different types of sensors. The reading is accomplished by several different methods - from direct reading of current indication of the instruments to fully remote reading of all devices in the net by GPRS technology. The use of M-bus interface allows fully electronic reading of data with all the benefits of it. М-bus supply converters are the basic device, and all the net is build on it.

In some cases more than 250 slave devices (which is standard maximum) must be connected in single m-bus network. In this situation m-bus repeater device must be used to accomplish the task. These repeaters have m-bus input and output and they simply expands the network to more slave devices. Of course special addressing modes are used for slaves. Our repeaters are two variants - expanding the net with 64 or 250 slaves.

Types of m-bus repeaters

Generally we offer two types of m-bus repeaters: for small expand up to 64 slaves, and for big expand up to 250 slaves. Both types have m-bus input and output interface. Input and output are galvanically isolated. All types of M-bus repeaters are powered from standard power supply 220/230 VAC, and they can work without problems down to voltage of 170 VAC. Outputs are protected to short circuit and high voltages.

Security

Special precautions are taken to avoid eventual attempts of data manipulating, read by the devices. For that purpose M-bus supply units do not record any data - they are just transceivers (except some service data). The service data is written once by the manufacturer or when installing the device and setting the system.
